The Minister of Jihad Agriculture said: We must provide the necessary grounds for the development of investment in the fisheries sector so that this sector becomes a currency-earning and export-oriented sector.
According to the government information site, Mohammad Ali Nikbakht, Minister of Jihad Agriculture, who has visited Golestan province on his first trip to Golestan province, while visiting the shrimp farming site in Gamishan city, told reporters: This shrimp farming site has two phases. The first one is 4 thousand hectares and 80% of it is under shrimp cultivation.
He added: The second phase is 6,000 hectares, which has been studied and is ready for implementation, and in the next week, we will examine the ways of providing resources for it with the presence of Golestan Governor.
The high official of the ministry stated: Fisheries is one of the sectors that has high capacities in the field of agriculture for investment, production and employment, export and foreign exchange.
He added: In the last season, more than 3,000 tons of shrimp were harvested in the 4,000-hectare site of Gamishan, and there are processing industries in the same area, which will bring high currency for the country with its export.
